I welcome the opportunity to continue as Chair of the Grand Valley Chapter. I would like to take this
opportunity to thank the entire executive for their support over the last year. I have really enjoyed
working together with this group and all our industry partners.

The Grand Valley Chapter is one of the largest and most active chapters within OACETT. Once again, I
plan on continuing the success of this chapter. As we did last year, we intend on continuing the many
popular and successful events that we have had in the past along with some new events. This year we
will be having our annual golf tournament, continuing family events such as hockey nights, our adopt-
a-road campaign, engineering month school presentation, earth week school presentation and others.
We will also continue to focus on speaker’s nights and hope to plan some plant tours for the near future.
Continuing to grow our relationship with Conestoga College and its students also ranks highly on our list
of priorities for this executive.

As a volunteer organization we depend on your support and participation. I invite every member to
consider how they might contribute to OACETT, with ideas of what we can do for you, your fellow
members and the community. With the revamp of our chapter website, along with social media
integration, we hope that we can reach out to our members more effectively and that our members find
it easier to reach out to the executive.

Please continue to visit the chapter website and participate in events, and when you can, let us know
what works well, and what changes you would recommend in order for us to continue to build a strong
chapter.
